I plan to major in Economics (specifically the more business oriented track) and need to declare a minor. I am a big fan of English and writing/reading is my strong suit so I was thinking of making it my minor. I want to work in business one day or something along those lines. Would English hinder me at all or what are your opinions? Thank you for your help

People who can write well about economics will always be in demand. Check out the columns of Paul Krugman ([Economics and Politics by Paul Krugman - The Conscience of a Liberal - NYTimes.com](http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/)) or the Freakonomics website ([Freakonomics](http://www.freakonomics.com/)).

You do a lot of writing just being in an Economics major itself. What you need is a technical minor like Math or Accounting.

It just seems like everyone that does Econ takes the same minor and I was just curious if something not so common like English would make a difference. Seems kind of silly if you get into business but you have zero to non writing skills.
