Economics

How hard is majoring in Economics? I'm pretty good in math (760 on SAT in Math), and I wanted to see if it was hard to get a great GPA (3.8-4.0) in Econ.

Which college?

1 Harvard
2 Chicago
3 MIT
4 Stanford
5 Princeton
6 Yale
7 Cal Berkeley
8 Penn
9 Northwestern
10 Minnesota
11 UCLA
12 Columbia
13 Michigan
14 Rochester
15 Wisconsin
16 Cal San Diego
17 NYU
18 Cornell
19 Cal Tech
20 Maryland

^I'd still choose Chicago over harvard.

There isn't much math in econ, just really basic math. It's more of knowing theories, how to apply those theories to the real world and how to make/read graphs.

Check out Northwestern's Mathematical Methods for Social Sciences (MMSS). http://www.wcas.northwestern.edu/mmss/prospective_students/approach.html
A joint major in MMSS and econ may fit you.
