Which would be better for some one wanting to go into an MBA later?
The school I want to go to offers two types.
BA in Economics at school of arts and sciences.
BS in Business Economics and Public Policy at the business school.

No difference. At UCLA there is an Econ major and a Business Economics major and the job prospects are a little better for Business Economics majors. If this is true at your school, perhaps you will have an easier time getting into a better job with the BizEcon major which will look better on a resume which will help with MBA admissions. That is a big "IF" though. Usually, there is little or no difference. Take a look at the biographies of MBA's and you will see that both Busines and Econ majors are both highly represented.

are MBA admissions as much GPA driven as Med school admissions???

There's a huge difference. If all you want is business, but you're taking econ courses because you have to, your profs will get frustrated with you, because they want to train scholars, not business-folk.

MBA admissions are NOT as GPA driven as Med school admissions.
