<p>Since it seems like everyone and their mother is majoring in economics these days, is it a bad a major to go into? If I were to major in it would I be able to find a well paying job?</p>
<p>First let me state that I am not (yet) an econ. major and neither is my mother.</p>
<p>WHAT I HAVE HEARD is that econ. is a good degree for a lot of things from law to business (& banking) to grad studies (although some suggest Math undergrad for grad econ). If you get your degree from a top tier school the fact that a lot of people get an econ degree will not devalue it.</p>
<p>AGAIN, WHAT I'VE HEARD is that what you major in doesn't always equal a high salary. What is important is your work (gpa) and your connections and sometimes your Alma Mater (among other factors).</p>
