Greetings,
At the University of Arizona, two Economics degrees are offered. One is a BA and the other is a BSBA. The BA allows more flexibility in both Economics and non-Economics courses, whereas the BSBA forces students to complete 18 additional units of business related courses.

I am a sophomore also majoring in mathematics (only need 4 more courses) and am interested in Economics Graduate school after I complete my undergraduate degree.

My question is this: Which degree is preferred by graduate schools and the career market, BA or BSBA?

Neither, pick the one that you want. Personally I would pick the BSBA because it's probably easier to get a career in the business world with it.

Graduate schools will only care that you have completed the prerequisite economics and mathematics courses before you go into graduate school (they will also care about the grades you received in those courses). If you’re four courses away from completing the requirements of your mathematics degree then you will likely have filled most of those requirements. If you are planning on going to graduate school then you might be better served by the flexible degree (to explore more electives in economics, or to conduct research). I hope this helps.
