Does it even matter that much? I've won awards and held an officer position with a business club (DECA) and have a business internship, but I would rather study bio or chem in college and go on to medical school. The only thing in my ECs that reflects the latter is that I volunteer at a hospital.

How will this affect my chances?

It’s irrelevant because your career path is going to change like 8 times.

A decent business background will help you if you end up in bio-tech or as an M.D. administering a major hospital or research institute. Don’t worry about this one. Stick with the ECs that you enjoy now. If you are serious about med school, you have four years of college to do internships related to that.

Doesn’t matter. I had no medical ECs and still got into a bunch of nursing programs.
