ECs for Princeton

I'm an Asian Male living in Princeton, NJ and I'm desperate to get in.

What are some of the things you guys did in terms of ECs? I'm currently very involved with science (doing some competitions), math (same as science), speaking (part of JSA), and I play tennis. I know scores are the main factor in getting in, but what kinds/levels of ECs is Princeton looking for? Do I really have to win some national competition to stand out or will hard work, dedication, and passion for science/math/speaking suffice? I'm open to suggestions. BTW, I'm also looking into research opportunities and, living 10 minutes away from the campus, I was wondering if Princeton offers anything to high school students? Thanks for any responses.

"I was wondering if Princeton offers anything to high school students?"

My son had mentioned that there was one high school student in his math class.

Oh, I've heard of that before. Some high schools that don't offer higher level math courses send their students to Princeton to take them. Unfortunately, my school does offer Multi-variable Calculus and doesn't sned us to Princeton...Still waiting on responses though.

are you a junior?? and what do you do in terms of "speaking". is this like speech and debate? if so, princeton holds a pretty prestigious high school debate event every year

Yes, debate. I'm a part of the Junior Statesmen of America.

hey prospective MD! i'm very involved in jsa and just was accepted ED to princeton so I am going to private message you so we can talk about it.

Do you sing bass? We're desparately in need of bass singers.

On a more serious note, I just want to encourage you to do what you like, what you have a PASSION for, and that will naturally show through your essays and application.

Research opportunities are usually through contact with the professor leading it. It won't hurt you to send an email to a professor who is researching a topic of specific interest to you.
