ecs for ucla

how important are ecs for ucla transfer admissions? i mean, i've always heard that UCs are pretty much all about stats. will joining a club or two really make a difference? plus, you've only been at the school for two years, so it's not most people would have really "impressive" leadership positions or anything...

or am i totally wrong about this?

It'll be nice to have a few down, but from what I've seen past years, it's pretty much GPA and major prep.

EC's aren't really important as long as you have good GPA.

I know that having a high gpa is the most impt thing. However, i dont think it will be easy to write the essays without some ecs

For your info, None of my essays have any of my ECs mentioned.
I just wrote why I chose Economics major over everything else (ECs not required), why I want to go to UCLA and what im planning on doing in there (ECs not mentioned again), and the personal development I went through (again, ECs not mentioned).

It's actually better if you can write about your LIFE, not about EC.

Too bad the application even suggests you write about your extracurricular involvement; I guess the UCs are just really fond of reverse psychology

yeah probably.

I dunno what UCs were thinking~ :)

well i guess the I'll need to rewrite all my essays then.
but rather not.

It's not like the essays will be much of a factor in the admission for kids with my gpa :P

i guess i was trying to say that you shouldn't make the EC the central point of your essay.

While ECs can be a good addition, it's not necessary to revolve your essay around EC. That's just lame.
