ECs in Freshman Year of High School

<p>Hi everyone!:)</p>

<p>I was wondering if any of you have an idea of how important your extracurriculars in your freshman year of HS are to Harvard admissions? For example, if someone wasn't too involved during their first year but excelled academically, and then became very involved in ECs for the rest of high school?</p>

<p>Any advice is appreciated:)</p>

<p>It will probably be fine, as long as it doesn't appear that you joined a lot of clubs at the last minute just to put on your application. A few activities with real commitment and leadership would be better than many.</p>
