To what degree can a world/national championship, and 2-4 state championships in business events (DECA) make up for a subpar GPA, assuming 2200+ SAT's?
My GPA is about a 93 weighted at a competitive school which has an average GPA of 87.5 weighted, so yeah, mine sucks.

93...doesnt that translate to like a 3.7? For many colleges (including ivy) a 3.7 will be great. But if youre the global champion of something, im sure that could make up for a couple of Bs throughout high school.

They don't consider gpa by itself. They look at the gpa/rank combination. Some high schools grade easy so that they have 40 people with 4.0's. Others grade hard so that 3.7 will put you in the top 5%. There are three basic levels" val/sal, top 5%, and top 10%.

although my GPA isnt bad, it sends no more than 6 ivies a year and has a median GPA of a 87.5- compared to that, mine looks like crap. im most interested in how Penn-wharton will consider this (ED pool), and how stanford, georgetown, duke, northwestern, NYU Stern and columbia will view this.
grade inflation is rampant at my school- points for every AP and five for honors.
