ECs on UC App

<p>If I’m desperately lacking in ECs to list, as in I have one year of a sport…is it better to fill it up with meaningless garbage or just leave it empty?</p>

<p>I pride myself on actually having a social life outside of school and school-related activities, I try to enjoy my time rather than spending it in clubs or internships.</p>

<p>What I’m getting at: Would I be better off listing really minor things, like “making youtube videos” or just leaving the entire EC section empty?</p>

<p>Also, does nmsc “commended” count as an “award” ?</p>

<p>Better to fill it with fluff than nothing. As long as you can back something up, you should put it on.</p>

<p>Don't lie, they told me they will check and they will randomly check about 10% of admitted students. NM Commended is an award. It's ok to list minor things as long as you actually do it.</p>
