Great thank you! @sciencer @BarcaUnited97
Impressive ECs.
Few things that you need to figure out:
I am a senior in high school and I discover that though I have a 4.0 like you do, I feel that I’ve wasted so much time…
For the important thing about high school and university is figuring out who you are, which interest you the most and of course, who you are gonna be.
So from what I see, you have fairly competitive ECs. And for you are thinking about the college in the time when you are only a junior, I guess you already forestalled others.
So my suggestion is to make a head start, find out what you want to major in college, and then we could talk, as I single-handedly applied to more than 20 colleges. And keep up the good work!
Obviously you are good with people and management, and you are a people’s people.
My suggestion is to spare more time to find what you would like to major and do for the rest of your life.
Don’t be afraid of being adventurous.
About the SAT, I wouldn’t worry that much.
I am a international student and I’ve only studied it for 3 month and scored 2190. (My grammar sucks)
I could do better but I think the scores aren’t that important for me to be worry about day and night.
Buy some prep books.
And so far, I would suggest UPenn.
Everything is gonna be okay.
Just find out your way and dream big.
Feel free to ask me anything if you want
Thanks @mrcatwang! I know that I want to be a physical therapist, so for majors Im looking into pre health stuff or public health perhaps. I would love to go to an Ivy League school but I realize that this isn’t realistic too haha. Definitely going to work on my test scores; any other advice on how to boost my application?
You are certainly welcome! Don’t be afraid of taking a leap and there is no harm to try, right? If you want to join the Ivy, just try. There’s no other way to fulfill that. I would like you to know that you wouldn’t want to end up in regrets for knowing that you might get into Harvard but just stop trying for being satisfied by Boston University (I love BU, not being sarcastic here haha )
My suggestion is: If what you want is a therapist, try to gain the relevant experience. Internship would be nice.
Also, good recommendation letter is a helpful tool. Maintain your passion about ECs, then everything shall be fine.
Some good choice: USC WUSTL Emory, Northwestern, BU, UWisconsin Madison
Some ‘just OK’ Schools with this major as a strong major: U of Delaware, U of Iowa, U of Pittsburgr
Thank you so much! This was really helpful @mrcatwang
Your EC’s are astounding. They might span across a few disciples, but they show you’re a well rounded student. I know you said in the NE, but you should look into Columbia and Ithaca in NY as reach schools. I’m believe their lower 25% score SAT 2050. And thanks for chancing me!
Thank you! @StudentRunner
I agree. Raise your SAT or take the ACT and your a solid canidate for any low Ivies. Another good school (if you’re not totally against being in the NE) is Emory Univeristy in Atlanta, Georgia. Not only do they have great science programs, they have the best physical therapy branch in the country!
Okay thank you! I’ll look into it
@lovesdogs101
Scattered EC’s and won’t look good in the eyes of top tier schools, especially Stanford. There are plenty of kids that got in because they focused on their passion; and not amazing stats.
Other schools, your EC’s are fine.
There is nothing wrong with variety. Your EC’s are good because they all are long-term commitments and have leadership positions. “Scattered” EC’s would be if you bounced from club to club and only spend a year on each one. Your EC’s are strong.
Okay thanks! @StanfordSwag @Nflpackers96
