<p>No they don't check, they assume what you say is the truth. However, colleges will check if ECs seem "too good to be true".</p>
<p>Lying on ECs is downright wrong...You never know if they will check and it just isn't fair to the other applicants who are honest...</p>
<p>I've heard they do random samplings and choose a few to check.</p>
