I had mediocre grades in 9th grade, but got an overall A in grade 10. We don't have the GPA system here in India. I'm a junior now. I scored a 2300 on my SAT (CR: 740, M: 800, W:760). I'm gonna apply to Harvard. I'm not worried about my grades, because they're alright now. I am worried though, about my ECs.
All I have worth mentioning is my shooting (10 m air rifle shooting), which I started in 9th grade, and won gold at pre-nationals. I'm going to take a year off after HS and compete at nationals. I don't know if that's enough or not. Anyway, should I try to deck up on ECs in the next two years?

The single most important thing for you to do is to craft a list of schools that are realistic. Harvard is not realistic for anyone on this planet. I’m not saying you shouldn’t apply – but if your sole goal is to only apply to HYPMS then you are destined for failure. Then you have to determine what you can afford. There are hundreds of American universities that would love to have you and where you’d thrive.
