for uc applications, is is true that there are only 5 spaces to list extra cirricular activities? therefore, anything else besides your top 5 wont be accounted for? not that im complaining, as i have about 5 clubs/organizations im in…just wondering how that works

Yah there is 5 spots for ec's, 5 spots for community service things, and 5 spots for honors and awards.

UC's don't want a laundry list of everything you have ever done dude. They want to know what you are passionate about. It is better to have fewer and show how being involved has shaped you. Try to tie everything back to your proposed major and show some depth.

now here's a Q. there's 5 slots for awards...
at my school you get a medal for having the highest grade out of all the classes for a specific course (such as 1st out of all the people in Algebra I or English II, etc.). it's an honor to get one of these, only thing is i tend to do a cleansweep and get the award for about 5 of my classes. should i even bother mentioning any of them, mention just one or two, or could i put "15 deparmental medals" in one slot?

Put em in one slot overachiever dude.

Yeah, just save one slot for them. UCs want to see if you've been awarded for other things besides academics.
