I see people mention this all the time about I have "great" ECs....I need more "ECs", yatta blah....

What constitutes great ECs? (Obviously this depends on what each school offers.) How important is church, religion (there is a box related to this on nearly every app in the world)??? Volunteering..how much is too much? to little? where is best? What other outside (non-school related) ECs can one join?

The church question is of utmost importance to me. I can't grasp the whole religion thing... Should I just go an sit in the local (there is like 50) church and ponder life once a week or not force myself?

There's a religion box on the application?

A religion box is strange..you didn't confuse that with nationality did you?

Countless apps I have looked at have "Church Youth Group" or some variant of this on them. I assume this is because it is a popular EC.

My question is how would I be viewed if I did not check or indicate any of the above.

Is this on a medical school application or a college application?

It will be both. I am transferring Fall 2007 and hence I am looking at a lot of undergraduate apps. I am also considering Medical school so I am trying to get some input from that perspective as well.

It would be really helpful if you provided us with a link of the application form with this religion box on it.

I'm currently applying to medical school. No medical school application I have filled out asks about religion.

I also don't remember checking such a box for undergrad applications, but that was four years ago, so.
