<p>My only EC's are Boy Scouts, Lacrosse, adn outdoor activities(rock/ice climbing etc).
I definately regret not joining more clubs earlier but if I join some for my senior year and put them on the app will they make much of a difference?</p>

<p>It’s much more important to have pursued one or two EC’s over several years that you enjoy and have explored in depth; a laundry list of clubs and activities just looks like resume-padding. Schools like MIT want a well-rounded class made up of individuals with differing, unique interests and talents, not a bunch of well-rounded kids. Try to focus in the application (especially the essays) on the things you’re really interested in, no matter how mundane.</p>
