<p>As a freshman, I was a member of a few clubs that I ultimately dropped before finding ECs that I was much more passionate about and sticking with them from sophomore year through my senior year. Is it worth it to list my freshman clubs? I don't want to appear as if I'm just "filling up" my application, but I also don't want colleges (Yale especially) to think that I just sat around and did nothing during my freshman year xD</p>

<p>That's not quite true. I wouldn't elaborate on them unless you have openings in your seven slots on the common app.</p>

<p>I would actually have to add them in the "Additional Info" section, as my seven slots are already filled.</p>

<p>Then I wouldn't bother, unless there was something particularly compelling from your freshman year.</p>
