Whats the difference between ED I and II?
If I apply ED to another school, can I apply ED II to Smith?

If you apply ED to a school and get in, then no, you cannot apply to EDII to Smith.

If you apply ED to a school and are rejected or deferred, then yes, you may apply EDII to Smith.

The difference is the dates. For ED I, the app is due in November and you learn in December, and for ED II the dates are January and February, I think.

BJM would know. The ED I app deadline is 11/15. ED II deadline is 1/1. The ED III deadline...there is no ED III.

TD would know, because he gave you the correct response above. ED is binding at Smith and many other schools, so be careful and only apply to one school ED. If deferred or rejected, then definitely apply ED II. Smart schools have ED II options, because they can grab those deferred students from other elite colleges. Therefore, Smith is smart!
