<p>What is the "optimal" % in class Emory is :"looking" for??</p>
<p>any selective school wants top 10%... prob. flexible for school that dont rank like mine... even though i'm like 15% since there are only 75 kids in my grade</p>
<p>Im 7% but its out of a HUGE class of 838, so i dont know how that is.</p>
<p>When colleges look at HS rates of kids going to college to see how "good" a school is, do they look only at 4 year college attendence or both 2 and 4 year? My school only has 50% going to 4 year, but 35% going to 2 year...So combined its 85% total going to college...Not sure how my school ranks w/ others....</p>
<p>Although, my school does offer 23 Ap Courses....</p>
<p>with big schools the % is all there really look at... so top 7% is awesome... and i dont think they care about your school as much as your transcript... i.e. are you top 7% cause you've taking all non- honor/ap (easy) classes or have u taken a challenging courseload</p>

<p>7% in a HUGE class is the same as 7% in a tiny class, it's a percentage...if it's a class of 100 it means 6 people are ahead of you, a class of 1000 it means 60 people are ahead, the size of the school wouldn't matter when computing class averages (unless it's a TINY <100 class where the statistics can be schewed by just a couple people)</p>
<p>Off topic, but if accepted, if one requests a single room, what are the chances that he/she will or will not be given one?</p>

<p>do not expect your letter any earlier than the 18th. Most oos applicants got their decisions last year on the 20th though. Sorry, but I thought you should know (I wouldn't want you to stress yourself into getting sick while waiting for the mail.</p>
