ED 2 at Rochester

How can I apply ED 2 at University of Rochester? I don’t see the option anywhere.

UR appears not to offer a conventional ED2 option, but it has, it seems, offered the choice to at least some applicants who have begun submission of an RD application.

So, if I want to apply, where do I choose ED 2? Or do I simply have to select ED on the common app?

I’m uncertain as to how ED would remain a choice after the cut-off for this official option.

UofR has always had an unofficial EDII. According to Admisions, you would select ED on the Common App and submit it by Jan 1st. It will be handled as EDII. You could always upload a note to the account once you have the MyRoc portal setup.

“We will honor and respond to all the EDII applications that arrive before the January 1 deadline this year. Please note that when you choose this option, your application must be complete, including the Early Decision agreement form, so we will have enough time to read and respond.”

Thank you so much! Will I have a greater chance applying ED 2 than RD? I am applying for financial aid.

@shiiro I’m sure there is a larger acceptance rate for EDII vs. RD. The pool itself will be substantially smaller : hundreds vs 18,000 +/-.

Best of Luck.

Thank you so much!

The quoted segment in reply #4 was originally stated with respect to occurrences in 2012, and therefore would not be relevant to your circumstances.

@merc81 this was discussed with admissions this cycle.

@Shiiro submit by the 1st and contact Admissions directly so it can be flagged as EDII.

@fbsdreams Thank you for your help. I needed to clarify this.

@Shiiro Did Admissions resolve your issues ?

As far as I know, Rochester offers ED 2 to those applicants who submit their application before December 1, i.e priority deadline

@Hellstein post #9 they offer an “unofficial” EDII and it has been confirmed this cycle.

@fbsdreams Yes. They told me that as I completed my ED agreement, I am all set.

EDII decisions should be in your MyRoc account.

My friend got in. Yay

Is there any one who didn’t receive his decision. I am waiting.
