I will be writing my essay on my family and health problems that Ive undergone over the past few years

Please tell me my chances...
Thanks!

[sorry there was a problem with my last username, please respond to this one]

I really think you are shooting yourself in the foot by graduatin early with your GPA and SAT scores. But your EC's are great. maybe consider sending in a tape of you playing an instrument?

well i dont think my gpa/sat are that way cause of my age, mostly because of the issues i had to deal with. family problems and i suffered from an eating disorder and stuff. but do you think maybe explaining it in my essay will help a bit

It'll help but I don't think an admissions committee will feel too much sympathy for an eating disorder. It kind of shows you as an applicant to be insecure with yourself. The family problems will help though. However, I am a fellow student who got in EDI my opinion is not the be all and end all.

hm, would ed2 + being indian help lots. as of now, my grades are really good, and its unfortunate that i cant go back and change anything. this feeling sucks =(

it looks like you're applying to a lot of prestegious schools i.e. umich, vandy. I'm sorry to inform you that you will not be accepted to either of them. you're SAT's are far too low, as is your gpa.

As someone who applied to both Vandy and UMich, I concur with Henrym288. However, if you really have your heart set on going to Vanderbilt and don't get in for the fall, remember that transferring is always an option, although a tough one (27% got in as transfers this past year: 111 of 404).

SATs are not the endall. Don't worry about what others have said. We're applying, statistically, in the hardest year to date. There are no guarentee's and trying to guess your chances of acceptance is a waste of time. Stop worrying. You will find out soon enough.

Hey, I applied EDII as well. But is there significant difference between EDII and RD in terms of selectivity? I'm thinking of pushing EDII to RD for finanicial and other reasons...would this negatively affect me?
