Does anyone know the acceptance rates for Early Decision at Wash U? They are one of the few schools who don't seem to publish that information.

I've been wondering this too. I know WashU reports that admission rates for ED are about the same for RD, but i just get a feeling that that's not the complete truth. If anybody has any "insider" information, please share.

They've never released official ED stats before this year as far as I know, largely because they had two ED rounds. Now this year there's only 1 ED round. Heck, they still haven't released admissions statistics from last year's admissions cycle.

Whoever told you that the acceptance rates for ED = RD was totally full of ****. I am currently a sophomore here at Wash U and I feel like between 1/3 and 1/2 the class applied ED (including myself). Your chances of getting in to Wash U are definitely improved simply by applying early- so good choice. By the way, I love it here!

ridiculous

that upsets me because the admissions officer when i visited said they are similar acceptance rates, so i kind of based my decision to apply regular off this....now im thinking i should have done ED

When I visited someone at Wash U they said the school likes people to think they're about the same, but it's still a little easier to get in ED.

WashU does not want people making decisions off of chance. They want people applying for ED to REALLY want to go there instead of applying because they have a better chance of getting in.

well you really have to use the rates in deciding....if its going to be the same ed as rd, then im going to apply rd everytime to leave my options open. but if my chances are better ed (which im sure they would have been) then i would do ed

First of all, same ED and RD rates still mean that its easier to get in ED. ED pools are a lot easier then RD pools. Second of all, if WashU was your number one choice and you would go there if accepted, then apply ED. Its as simple as that.
