ED Admission

Does anyone know the specific date and time that ED decisions will be released this year?

I haven't gotten any sort of information except that the decision will be made,"on or before December 15th."

no…:frowning: I am waiting for it too…

"Um I got deferred last year. ED notification came out on the 4th of Dec and letters were only released on the 8th Dec after 4pm Eastern Time:-) "

From a post in the Dartmouth 2015 hopefuls thread… probably later this year though because of the 200 extra people

“Um I got deferred last year. ED notification came out on the 4th of Dec and letters were only released on the 8th Dec after 4pm Eastern Time:-)”

Question about the above quote: When you say, “ED notification came out on the 4th of Dec,” does that mean you were notified of your ED decision on the 4th, or does that mean you were notified the date when ED decisions would come out?

Bump.
I’d like a response to the above question as well.

I remember reading that decisions were released on Dec 8th, so I would assume that they notified people on Dec 4th that they were releasing decisions on the 8th.

International students either are accepted or rejected…Is it true?

are the decisions released online or just notification of when the decisions are released? do letters come on the day they say decisions are released?

I interpreted the quote as decisions are online on Dec. 4 but the actual letter does not arrive until Dec. 8th.

Decisions were released on the 8th last year. Check last year’s ED Decisions thread.

Aight, so I predict decisions will come out between Dec 8-10, since 10 is a Friday and I can’t imagine they would announce them on a weekend. Maybe they would, but Cornell announces them on the 9th, so I’ll bet no later than the 10th.

Under two weeks baby! Lets goooo. I’m so pumped… although I obviously have no idea what the actual decision is.

To everyone: I am the person that was referred last year and I am from Africa, making me an international student. Letters were sent out on the 4th stating that the final results will come out on the 8th.

I am guessing this year, they’ll probably send us an update on the 7-10th December on when we will receive the final decisions:-)! Its almost there so don’t stress ya!

So soon! This is already making me nervous.

I’m going to email my parents my username and password for checking my application status so I can’t look online. For the other two colleges I found out accidentally just by checking my status online to see if they got my stuff. I want the thrill of the letter.

^Do they even send deferal/rejection letters though (not implying you won’t get in; I’m sure your chances are great)?

For some reason I thought the decisions other than being accepted were both done entirely online.

That’s a good question. I don’t see why they wouldn’t send out rejections through mail…do you know if they send out a packet to you if you get accepted or just a small envelope?

So annoying… Cornell on the 9th, Upenn on 10th… Dartmouth still sticking to the 15th according the discover dartmouth discussion page on FB. I’m not sure why I find it annoying, since I probably will be deferred anyway:( or even worse… rejected!

^I wouldn’t trust that claim entirely. Dartmouth probably says it will be the 15th until they have made a final decision on the release date; that way, no one will be disappointed since Dartmouth wouldn’t be able to overestimate the deadline. They are setting low expectations so that it will please applicants and their families when they announce the actual release date…

That is just my two cents though. :)

From an admissions webchat just a moment ago, an officer said that they are aiming for Dec.10th to get the decisions out. He also said that we’ll be notified (presumably online) a few days before on when the letters come in the mail
