Anyone know what percentage of early decision applicants were admitted for c/o 2015?

i did the numbers and if columbia wants to keep admitting about 43% of its class in early, then the admit rate would be just south of 19% for early for both schools.

^ wait admissiongeek, isn’t admission to SEAS traditionally more lenient than the college? Like isn’t early for SEAS around 30 percent, whereas the college is around 12-14 % ?

well i prefer to think about columbia as one school - so i’ll use the 19% number.

but actually i believe it is something like 15% and 24%, the gap is quite close now.

Do not be fooled by admission rates. CC has a lower acceptance rates most likely because more underqualified candidates apply. It wouldn’t affect your chances if you are a great applicant. SEAS on the otherhand really emphasizes high statistics like GPA and SAT scores. If you don’t meet the standard, you won’t get in period. In fact, USNews base their ranking of college selectivity mostly on SAT and ACT scores. Admission rate only counts for 1-5 percent, whereas SAT and ACT counts from 15-20 percent.

9 % im pretty sure

Robby, that’s the rate for RD admissions (and it’s probably a bit high for this year), not ED admissions, which is around double the RD rate.

Actually, the admissions rate for ED and RD combined, for both SEAS and the College combined, was 9% last year.

^ yup, regular is pretty hardcore
