ED Advantage

How much of an advantage do you have when you apply ED to NYU? I'm looking at the acceptances/rejections and have similar stats to those accepted, so I'm just wondering if that means I have pretty good shot or if applying RD is going to make it a lot harder and more competitive.

As I understand it, most everyone who is qualified is accepted ED, whereas with RD there are space limitations so they turn away qualified applicants. Don't forget, NYU is a big "safety" school for kids who apply to a bunch of ivies, and they all apply RD.

so does that mean it's a lot harder to get in RD?

yes, it is harder to get in RD..in a lot of cases, if you would have gotten in ED, you may not RD...if you think you're qualified though you should apply

ahh, I knew I should have just applied ED, because by looking at who's been getting in, I probably would have gotten in. I was just scared of the financial thing, even though now I realize backing out of it doesn't cost you money.
