ED advantages?

does anyone know how the stats are different from accepted regular admittants and ED admittants? How much exactly does an ED help you if your stats are below what the school usually accepts?

my situation is that my dad really wants me to apply to emory because he went there and he thinks my relation to him along with an ED would give me a shot at getting in. I only have a 29 ACT and a 3.6 gpa tho and i dont want to waste my ED on a school i have no chance at getting in.

With some colleges, applying Ed helps students get in.
A big question -- do YOU want to go to Emory or is that your father's dream for you? Don't apply ED to any college unless you are 100% sure that it's the college that You definitely want to attend over all others.

Often what parents experienced in college was perfect for them, but since their kids have different personalities and interests than the parents, the parents' alma maters are not perfect for their offspring. Pick a college based on your own interests. After all, your dad had his college experience. Now it's your turn.

by all means id love to have the opportunity to go there. the campus is great and i love the warm weather. but theres other schools on my list that i feel id be perfectly happy at and if an ED would more efficient on a school thats more in my range then thats what im trying to find out.

i know the post was misleading but it actually is at the top of my list. its also far and wide a better school than all the others.

apply early decision to emory. Your act score is fine, its roughly a 1300+~, so don't worry about that. And your father's legacy will help tremendously, and furthermore, since Emory is one of your top choices, ED fits perfectly. And yes, your chances do increase significantly from applying regular decision and early decision. One example is that, many students who do not get into ivies and schools that are many a time a crapshoot, apply to emory, etc, during regular and may end up going there, so in my personal opinion the applicant pool in regular is much more competetive as well. This is of course just one example, but yea, in my opinion apply ED and I'd say your chances of acceptance are 80%~.
