ED Agreement?

So I just sent in my application--with 20 minutes to spare!
And I noticed that people on cc are mentioning some ED Agreement?! My mom signed the agreement, and I did too, but what is everyone saying about having your counselor sign it and fax it to Penn? On Commonapp it just says:

"Since you indicated that you plan to apply to this institution via the binding Early Decision plan, you must complete and submit the online ED Agreement prior to submitting the Common App Online to this institution. Enter your signature and the date to indicate that you agree to the statement below outlining your rights and responsibilities under the Early Decision process. Your signed agreement will also be signed by your parent or legal guardian and counselor (if applicable), and will then be submitted to this college by your counselor."

It says 'if applicable', for the counselor signature, so what does all of this mean?!

if your counselor sent the forms (rec letters and secondary school forms and stuff) online, you should be fine. if your counselor opted to mail the forms, feel free to join the club.

wow, seems like a lot of people, including me, made this mistake!

Thanks, commonapp has been such a nightmare to work with. I’m so glad it’s over!

The commonapp is horrible. Used it a couple of years ago for my other son but don’t remember having so many problems as we did this time.
