After 4 years of hard work, I feel like i've been screwed over. My class rank is 15/422 and my gpa is 3.94 unweighted. I applied to Brown, Cornell, Boston College, University of Vermont, and Providence College. I knew Brown would probably reject me but I thought that at least Cornell or Boston College would accept me. Well, I got rejected from Brown and Cornell, waitlisted at Boston College, and accepted at UVM and PC. So now i'm forced to pick from my two safeties UVM and PC. I didn't think that I would be attending either so now i need help picking. PC accepted me to their honors program but UVM didn't. However, I want to major in Biology so UVM would probably be better. Do you have any opinions on either school? Right now i'm leaning towards UVM and applying for admission to the Honors College at the end of my freshman year. Still, I feel like all my work in high school just went down the toilet.

stay on the waitlist at BC and go to UVM. uvm was amazing and you are lucky to have been accepted! i was waitlisted at uvm and accepted to bowdoin. uvm is a great place.

I'd suggest you overnight at BC & let them know how much you're still SO interested in their program & speak with profs & students in your major there. I'd also suggest you overnight at UVM & PC, doing the same things. You might also want to talk with the folks at the honor's college at UVM & see how that goes when you're having your overnight.

Good preparation for college starts with a solid foundation in HS, so your hard work was NOT wasted. It will serve you well & help you be very successful in college to give you good options for grad school and jobs. Congrats on your acceptances & good luck in making the choice that is the best fit.

Alright, i'll probably take a closer look at my colleges. Who knows, maybe this happened fora reason.

Who knows, you can even transfer if you choose & do well at whichever school you matriculate in the fall (most folks end up so happy at their school that they graduate & then go on to a new school for grad/pro work). We all have a choice to make things in our lives become a positive or negative--attitude makes a HUGE difference & it's all in YOUR hands.
Good luck!
