ED and EA at NU/Michigan

Can I apply ED at Northwestern and EA at Michigan?

Will it help my chances at both of these schools? Or should I apply RD to Michigan?

If you are asking whether they have the program you mention for each, the answer is yes. As to whether it will help your chances, ED at NW gives you somewhat better chance if in fact you are already in its usual ranges for admission. Mich yes simply because those who apply EA by Nov 1 are reviewed before others and get early decision (which can include just being deferred to later decision), however, it is “some” advantage but should not be considered much.

Adding to above, if you were asking whether you can do both at the same time, the answer is also yes, NW allows you to apply EA anywhere else and Mich has no restrictions on applying elsewhere.

Also, for Michigan, apply as early as possible. As in have the application complete by September. Then, if you are a strong stats student, you can find out by the beginning of November.
