ED and EA at the same time

If you are applying ED to a college, your college counselor as well as you have to sign a document stating that you are applying to ONLY that college ED. If that is false, it will come back and have a BIG impact on the school for future applicants. No college counselor is going to jeopardize the credibility of his high school and future applicants, and possibly his job, for 1 applicant.

Yea but the statement doesn't address EA.......it is what you stated about the ED.

I'm not trying to apply to more than one ED... I'm trying to apply to one ED and two EA

Make sure you understand the rules of your ED for that is your limiting factor.

This is to clarify an earlier statement that I made on this thread. On closer inspection, it does appear that Brown STRICTLY prohibits any candidate from applying ED if they are applying to another school EA. This apparently applies whether the EA is binding or non-binding. This prohibition appears on the application at the point where you check the box to send in an ED application:

"I further understand that it is a violation of this Agreement for me to be an Early Decision or Early Action candidate at any other college or university."

To the best of my knowledge, this does not appear in the website, only in the application. While the adcom stated this was a preference rather than a rule, it sounds like a rule to me. I have a call into the admissions office to clarify this situation. The last thing we want to do is fall afoul of a rule like this.

Is anyone aware of any other schools that prohibit a non-binding EA application to another school if one is applying ED?
