ED and EA

Can I apply ED to vandy and still apply EA to other places? answer asap plz :)

As I understand it:

Most EA programs are non-binding and unrestricted, in which case there is not a conflict. Vanderbilt ED (I and II) are binding, so if you are accepted, you are supposed to withdraw your other applications, including those to the EA schools.

There are a couple of restricted EA programs, sometimes called SCEA (single-choice early action) which carry restrictions against applying early anywhere else. You have to read the rules for each school.

If I am not correct, I hope someone takes a moment to correct me.

midmo’s got it.

Make sure if you get accepted under an ED program to actually withdraw your applications. It’s not looked upon too well with other colleges. I’ve heard some rumors that some prestigious ones have a list of students with “bad” manners.

Thanks ya’ll! I know that if I get into Vandy, I have to withdraw any other applications. I just applied to a few non restrictive EA schools just to get them out of the way. I guess I don’t have to do any emergency application withdrawals now. Awesome. Vandy is still my #1 choice!
