When do accepted Early Decision applicants receive their financial aid info?

Depends on the university, but most of the time, it’s when the rest of the students get that info-from March onwards. The uni’s wait for the FAFSA info to come through.

You will get an estimated aid package with your acceptance. However, there is no guarantee that that aid won’t change when it is finalized in the spring.

Do not apply ED if you need a lot of aid. Apply RD so you can compare aid packages.

When I applied ED, I received an acceptance on December 15th and I received an estimate of my financial aid a few days later. The estimate of my financial aid was pretty much spot on to my actual financial aid package.

Same for me, accepted in December and got financial aid a few days later. I don’t remember if it was an estimate or the actual award, but I remember I was given two weeks to decide if it was sufficient and accept the offer.

When you get a FA package before your final FAFSA/Profile have been submitted and processed, it will ALWAYS be an estimate. Colleges can only calculate a final FA offer once they have all of the FA information from the previous year’s taxes. Whether the provisional package is accurate or not depends on how close your estimates are to your final numbers.
