-Clubs: Mu Alpha Theta, Interact, Student Council, Historical Society, Thesbian, Science, Beta, Beta Epsilon

-ACT score: First time = 27, Second time = 27 too! Everything went up several points but science, which for some reason plumated. Hopefully a 30 in Oct. I'mma get a ACT tutor and study like no other.

-In addition, I got the lead role in a theatre preformance in Drama, and am hoping to be equally as lucky in the upcoming Musical this year.

-Volunteer at a Nursing Home, but not the typical 100+ hours yet... I'm working on it. So little time anymore.
-I'm good at essays, so counting on essay to be good.
-Recs: One teacher already finished and it let me see it... it was excellent! I couldn't have wrote one myself better. Still waiting on the other two.
-Student of Month twice, Soph & Junior academic award etc.
-Senior Superlative: Most intellectual
-Major: I want to go pre-med, w/ a major of Chemistry and a minor in Psychology.

Note: I know my AP's are low, but our school only offers 5 and others conflicted with my schedule. Also, there is no 3rd foreign lang. offered at my school... not enough people sign up for them.

I know my ACT score is below the 29-32 middle 50%, and this is my biggest concern. I am taking the Oct. 28th ACT and have already signed up to have them sent to Vandy (the last day they accept them). Could you please give me my chances with my current ACT score (a 27) and with the ACT score I hope to get (29-30) Thanks so much!!

bump please?

ur ACT is gonna hurt u

But how much is what I'm wondering.. anyone wanna respond to chances with my 27 and then with a 30?

your chances will improve significantly with a 30 but i'm not sure that it will be enough. oh course my view is somewhat negligible compared to the applicant pool as a whole, but i know 3 people from my school who are applying ED to vanderbilt, too, and their scores are higher, comprable class ranks, and 2 of the 3 have more extracurriculars. of course this is only 3 of the however many that apply, so don't get your hopes down! you do have straight A's (basically..) but your classes aren't rigorous and generally schools that don't offer as many AP and honors courses aren't as competitive, which takes away from the initial merit of your class rank.. so overall.. i'm not sure and i think it will come down to essays, recs, and of course everyone else who applies. p.s. it's also really hard to say how much you are going to improve on standardized tests-- people often say they will improve by "this much" and end up dropping. i'm not saying that you necessarily will, but you just never know so you don't want to rely on the fact that you 'think' you will have a 30 so you have nothing to be worried about.. do you know what i mean? i hope that helped at least a little!
