ED Applicants and Financial Aid

Have any accepted ED applicants received their financial aid information yet? If so, has it met your expectations/need?

My son received his yesterday. Very true to their new policy-very generous package. We can now put the cornell static sticker on the minivan!

I do not qualify for need based aid :(.

Well now I can get a sweet job waiting tables in college town instead of a crappy campus job! (thats not sarcasm, I love working at restaurants, and they make very good money)

are you sure about that Tboonepickens?

I've heard a few stories of people who were absolutely sure they couldn't qualify, and then applied, and found out they did qualify for something.

What is the nature of the campus jobs?

mostly of the food variety.

but you can always get a job at a library.

No, I submitted my stuff and i got it back today, aid not included. But to be honest, I knew it wouldnt be that much if any.

Campus jobs that are not in food service are usually pretty good.

Now, because of the way that Cornell works with scholarships... that is, you get $1000 in outside scholarships, then they take $1000 out of their contribution. First from loans, then from work-study, then from grants or something like that. A friend of mine and I were thinking that if we could get enough scholarships to cover our work-study (we qualify to be loan-free) that we could get jobs off-campus?
