ED applicants: have you received anything?

If you applied early decision, have you received any information from NYU yet (e.g., mail, phone calls)?

the website now says we will get decisions throughout the week of the 11th...thats the only update i've heard so far...

I saw that last year some EDs were able to find out before their acceptance letters if they got in, by going to https://start2.nyu.edu/ibin/getnetid1.cgi and putting in their S.S.# and D.O.B. and setting up an account. This seemed to work for transfer students and EDs who were previously in their summer program. I do know that some people who couldn't get their accounts got in, but if it happens to work for you..... you're in. This seemed to work around the 5th of December for summer and transfer students and around the 10th for other EDs.
This did not work for everyone so don't be discouraged! Also, who knows when they will start setting up new accounts for this year? Maybe not until February??? Just thought I would pass this along if anyone wants to try.

I got that big any day at NYU packet. Two of them.

EDIT: DON'T CLICK THAT LINK IN THE THIRD POST

Thanks for posting that link. I had know idea that the school felt this way about it. I just thought it was something that was permissable after looking at last year's postings. I appologize for posting it and hope that no one has followed my suggestion to check this site.

NYU UGADMISSIONS

I feel terrible now. I hope my action does not influence the decision.

I tried to access the site.

If you read the entire thread you will see that nothing happened to anyone who tried useing it whether they got an account or not. As long as you didn't get an account I think you are okay. Just don't try again. I am sorry if the info I passed along encouraged you to check this site. As stated at the end of the thread the decissions are already made up and nothing has changed. NYU thought it was sleazy to try to do this instead of waiting for the mail like everyone else. We will all find out next week. Then we can all buy NYU T-shirts ... or not

are u sure nothing happens?! i didn't read the rest of this thread and i tried entering and now i am so scared. nooo! :(

nevergiveup, it worked for you??

for me? no it didn't. i'm just worried that this may affect my chances of getting in. r the decisions made already?

No, I was addressing nevergiveup, cause s/he posted this:

I am also extremely sorry for creating a Net-ID account. I was not entirely sure what it was and I knew all the information required to make it so I figured it was something that I was allowed to access. Now that I realize what it is I promise to not access it until I receive an official decision from NYU. I seriously did not know what it was all about and I hope NYU understands that many others did not either from what I hear.

in the thread I linked to.

key phrase being "created net-id" account.

oh, ok. phew! thanks lol

Has anyone that has applied ED received anything in the mail this week?

i haven't. have you? ppl who have applied to other colleges have been hearing from them, if not with a decision, at least with a message that says that they will receive the decisions soon. has any of you gotten such a message??

i am away at boarding school, so i don't know exactly what it was, but my mom said that i got a "student news" something or other yesterday. i wish i could tell you exactly what it is, but i don't know.

Yeah I got that today too. It's nothing new.

Why would NYU send that "One Day at NYU" brochure?

It's such a tease and it can't be cheap to send it.

I haven't gotten anything since the "One Day at NYU" brochure a couple of weeks ago. For those of you who received the NYU Student News letter today, where do you live? Is receiving any such mail a sign that one is accepted or rejected?

california.
and i doubt that it has anything to do with acceptance/rejection. i try not to read to far into these things.
