<p>@45 percenter. I wouldn’t take what he says as the total truth. No university’s going to admit that there has been a decrease in academic quality and/or diversity. That’d be a PR nightmare. Though, I do very much suspect that it has been a broad base increase.</p>
<p>^ Dean Furda’s generally a straight shooter. If the quality hadn’t increased, he would have just not commented on it. I’ve been following Dean Furda’s public statements since he became Penn’s Admissions Dean (and followed Penn Admissions for many years before that), and he’s usually quite candid about admissions numbers (and if anything, somewhat understated). Not to mention that the statistics of the admitted classes have, indeed, been steadily increasing for many years now.</p>
