ED applicants (or not), did you get this email?

A couple of weeks ago I got an email from Columbia asking me to rate my interest in Columbia from 1 - 5, with 1 being Very Interested. They also asked for confirmation on extracurricular interests I would like to pursue at Columbia. Is this email for ED applicants only and I'm guessing it's used to weed out ED applicants with little interest right?

I didn't get that...

I didn't get that either.

Um were you guys ED applicants? I think I got this because my extracurricular interests and academic interests didn't really go together..... the email said "please take a moment to confirm those areas of your profile." I think they must have thought they were a mistake. Anyone else have any input?

I didn't get that either.. I applied ED to SEAS.

I didn't get it either, and I think all three of us were ED applicants (vivasweetlove, demeter, and myself). What you said seems to make sense though, whomikejones281.

I didn't get it either. I applied CC. I also didn't get it last year, when I applied. What were the inconsistencies?

Wierd. Columbia does ginding ED s.t. it makes no sense to try to get you to rank your interest in the school.

What were your EC's and academic interests?

Yes, I applied early CC (thanks quixotic, you were right)

I didn't get it either and I applied ED to SEAS.

Nope did not get it. CC'ed

Look whomikejones281, don't take this the wrong way, but could you post that email just so we can make sure you aren't messing with us. Thanks.

I'm 99% sure it's not directly related to his application. Sounds like a survey thing to me... If it were directly related to his application, his admissions officer would have emialed him directly and more personally instead of "rate on 1-5".

hmmm, yeah, youre probably right.

weird. definitely didn't get it.

That doesn't make sense at all. Columbia doesn't need to know your interest level, you already applied ED and that's binding.

me neither

we've beat this thread to a pulp. Let's just agree that this "email" meant jack****

i applied early to cc and i didn't get that. you probably made an error on the app and they wanted to check your application for your benefit.
