hey guys, I go to a wayyy underrepresented suburban school. We have never sent anyone to Brown, or Yale, or harvard etc in history. We only sent one kid to UPenn last year and that was like the first kid to go to any ivy in like 15-20 yrs lol. This year, im the only person applying to UPenn, or Brown, or Cornell. Does this work in my favor then?

I applied early to CAS.. hope being saluditorian helps a bit.. a lot of people in my school are applying, but not early, which is better I guess

oh man it is not encouraging to read that every freakin kid on this site is applying to Wharton ED. I wish everyone luck, hopefully december 15th we'll all be back here posting how happy we are

haha! I didn't even notice I spelled it that way :-). But luckily for me, I didn't use that word in my app ;-). BUT I may have made a typo or 2 in my essay. I was looking at my common app essay on my computer and found 2 mistakes! I know that I corrected my essays, then my computer froze and didn't save my changes, and I know I printed it before it froze.. but I may not have caught one of the typos :-/

ED Huntsman (Chinese) and Wharton for single degree program

by the way, i havent heard from penn, but i sent my app like around 1 week ago. Generally, how long does it take penn to acknowledge the receipt of application??

cherryl: It usually takes two weeks for them acknowledge w/ the card that they mail you. I have no idea if they use e-mail notification though, since I did not apply online. They do interviews until December so don't worry, especially since interviews don't matter too much and are random.
