ED at Bates?

I am internation student from pakistan…i wish to apply ED to Bates for fall of 2008…i would also be applying for financial aid…firstly can anyone please tell me what is the ED acceptance rate at Bates?? Secondly do u guys recommend me doing ED and also applying for aid at the same time…does Bates give aid to ED internationals? thanks

hey there,
i'm also applying to bates, but not ED. i only suggest you do this if, without a doubt, bates is your number 1 school. as for aid, bates is widely known for how much cash it doles out to its students. i did an overnight with an international student from vietnam, and he only has to pay $2500 a year...meaning he got over 40000 in aid. bates will really help you out! goodluck!

p.s. i met a TON of internationals from pakistan, india, sri lanka, bangladesh, nepal...you get the point

hey...thanx for the reply...yea even i have heard that bates is pretty generous when i cames to aid for intl students...but there are some colleges that prefer international studnets asking for aid in the regular pool rather than in the ED pool....like UChicago doesnt give aid to intl students in EA....

anyways...one more thing...i have given my sat 1 and sat2 but might not be reporting them...so in the main common app form do i write my sat scores??

and lastly are there any alumni interviews for ED internationals.???..this is pretty important cuz the bates website says that they do rely alot on interviews

for interviews, you should be able to set one up if you can locate a bates alum near you..if not, call the admissions office and explain your situation and how badly you want an interview.

yes, submit the scores in the main common app form

goodluck!

If you're not submitting your scores, don't write them. It makes no sense to write them and not submit them, it just looks like you forgot.

can someone tell me about the neuroscience program at bates?

would an individual seeking medical school entrance consider this program versus
the typical biology program. can you combine both these programs as a major
and minor degree.

How rigorous is this program?
