Does applying ED1 or ED2 affect the likelihood of getting accepted to Bucknell? I’ve heard that at many schools its easier to get in ED…is this true of Bucknell? Is there a difference in likelihood between ED1 and ED2? Also, if anyone on here was accepted ED to Bucknell, what were your stats (grades/test scores)? Thanks

Bucknell has 65% acceptance rate for early decision 1 and a 30% acceptance rate for regular decision (not sure about ED2).

I was just at a Bucknell seminar. They said they fill 40 percent of the class ED. So that’s generally your best shot.

Just remember that a whole lot of those ED students are recruits for the Div I athletic teams and other targeted groups, so it’s not as big an advantage as it seems from the admit rates.

ED certainly can help, but for me personally I applied regular, and I feel the essay actually weighed pretty significantly. It’s not a very big school and with their supplemental essay they ask you to kind explore yourself. This basically is a showcase for them, and something they’ll pay attention to in their pool of applicants if it’s genuine, interesting enough. Here is a little blurb I wrote about that schpeal if you feel so inclined.

^^the link didn’t work!

I’ve heard that at Bucknell, ED is more holistic while RD is more about test scores. I’m not sure how much of a difference it makes but ED is definitely your best chance
If you really want to go here appy ED. D2 did,. She got in and that was that.
