Hello everyone!
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to comment on my likelihood of being accepted to Wake Forest class of 2020 early decision?
I interviewed with a woman named Hattie last June and I think it went well because we talked for almost an hour while everyone else finished around the 25 minute mark. I go to a public school in Virginia that sends a lot of students to UVA so it’s a pretty good school overall. I have a 3.929/4 unweighted GPA and a 4.536/5 weighted GPA. My freshman and sophomore years I took 4 honors classes each, last year I took 2 honors, 2 AP and 1 dual enrollment, and this year I’m taking 4 APs.
My SAT score was just below 2000 which I thought was decent enough to submit but I also let them know I would take the test again (which I did this past Saturday).
As far as activities go, my main ones have been dance and drama. I’ve been in dance classes since I was 2 years old and I was on the dance team freshman year. Then I got hooked on theater my sophomore year so I pulled back on dance and got very involved in that. Our school has an incredible and intense program (30 hours/week for the few weeks leading up to each show). Last year I was elected as Vice President of the theater department so this year I’m serving as President in addition to participating in 3 other honor societies at my school. I was also recently invited to the National Beta Club, though I’m not really sure what that is!
Community service wise I haven’t done a lot except for my freshman year where my sister and I created our own community service project, raising money to make almost 50 teddy bears to donate to the UVA children’s hospital right before Christmas. We were on the news and everything. But other than that, I volunteered for my school’s football team by filming all their games sophomore and junior year so they could watch the footage.
I sent my application in on September 1st, sent everything else in on September 11th (teacher recommendations, transcript, etc.), and my Window to Wake account showed that my application was complete on September 17th. I know they said up to 8 weeks and it’s only been 2 and a half but I know some people get their letters earlier so I’m anxiously checking the mailbox everyday! I feel like my application was strong overall and I spent so much time on my essays but you never know what they’re looking for!
