HERE IS THE PROBLEM
if i wanna apply for ED, which means i have to take SAT1 in Oct and SAT II in Nov..(i didnt take SAT IIs before..how stupid i am..=[ i should do it early)
and if the school reject me because of my low SAT1 score i will take in Oct, i will take SAT1 again in Dec..which is not too late for RD(but no more cornell!)..what should i do in Nov?just Study for SATIIs????

on another hand, if i wanna apply for RD, which is not as rush as ED..
then i can take SAT1 in Oct and Nov, when im done with the SAT 1, i can focus on SATIIs which i will take in Dec..for the RD.

Now..is it like, ED= better chance to get in???
im in a huge confusion....i really dunno what to do..arr..

anyways..im considering CAS…
do i have a better chance to get in by applying for College of Architecture, Art, and Planning??since i have some art awards..? and is it possible to transfer from College of Architecture, Art, and Planning to CAS if i wanna change my major??because im really intersted in psychology..

Architecture accepts ~50 people per year, and is almost entirely based on your portfolio. You need good grades, but the portfolio is the decider. Unless you think you have the talent that would represent the top 1% of kids applying to high school, don’t bother. It’s very self-selective, and almost impossible to get in.

ED is going to have higher acceptance rates, as it shows dedication to Cornell, and is guaranteed yield. That said, if you can’t get your CR score up, I wouldn’t waste your ED on Cornell.

Take the ACT’s. I did much better on that then I did on the SAT’s, and they also fulfill your SAT II requirements. You really need to score higher on both math and reading to be competitive.

I was accepted to CAS. I had a much lower math score (640), but a higher Critical Reading score (690) on the SAT I. I only took one SAT II, though I took three more in December (the school didn’t receive my scores until after I had been accepted).

thanks dtop

i really have to work on my CR..
see how it goes…if i cant get my CR score up,i prob jzt apply for RD…

ACT..i never prep for dat,i think it is diff from SAT..i need more time to get use to ACT..and practice..god,i dun hav time dude…

anyways..just do more practice tests and see how my scores will be=]

thanks peeople89

i think for CAS, CR score should be above 650 to be competitive…

if i cant boost my CR score up,i prob take SATI in both oct and nov and SATIIs in Dec..and i gonna do all my applications for RD…

ppl do you know ED 2???b/c on Common app for carnegie mellon, it has ED 2(deadline-12/1)

Don’t be so sure that the ACT’s are that much harder. I took it with absolutely ZERO preparation, and my score went up ~150 points when converted to the SAT scale. It’s worth a shot.

ahh really?
umm.i should look for some ACT prep books..then i dun have to take SATIIs..
thx thx dtop

dont do AAP unless you are 100% about art, architecture, or planning. applying there just to get in isnt a good idea. because of all of the limited enrollment programs, it is really hard to get in. they only allow about 30 art, 30 planning, and 55 arch students in, with over 2000 applications.

SATs are iffy…

largely due to your test scores, Cornell looks like a very slim possibility, even if you apply ED.

to laurstar07

o_O..okey forget abt AAP…

to patlees88

yeah i noe..SAT socres are extreamly important..
so..yeah,i decide to take SAT in Nov and SATIIs in Dec.

ooh and how high should i get in both CR and MATH in order to get into cornell???altho i hav lil chance/no chance..i still wanna apply, really like the school..never give up^^
