ED BU Applicants for 2022

I need to listen to some Biggie Smalls’s old jam, this is killing me

Do they even deny some people during ED round?

Yes, last year the decisions came out on the 12th of December around 2pm EST. Also, you guys are correct, last year and previous years when the message changed to not have ED in it, it meant you were rejected or deferred. It is a coincidence but they could have changed it this year because a lot of people were upset last year that BU did that. I do think that this Friday is a bit too early for decisions to come out.

@Joezzzzz I think they only defer people who apply ED, and then deny/waitlist people for regualr

Does anyone else have the " Our record indicate…"?

I applied to Fordham Pitts and BU. Accepted to Pitts, waiting for Fordham and BU. I am really nervous now.

@lacollege I have it. No early applicant indicated or thank your message.

Can someone put the link to the ED 2021 thread? I can’t find it and want to read it myself. Thanks

Does anyone want to take one for the team and call admissions tomorrow and ask when they think decisions will come out, like if this week is too early or not??

I called today and they said that it will be by December 15, so they are not yet ready to reveal any information. From past years threads, it seems that the decision will come out this Friday the 8th, Monday the 11th, or Friday the 15th at 2pm Boston time.

Is there anyone from last year that had “Our records indicate”, and still got in?

Do you get an email when accepted or…?

Based on last years thread, no one with without the ED was accepted for ED 1

Class of 2019 received their decision on Dec. 12, class of 2020 received their decision on Dec. 11, and class of 2022 received their decision on Dec. 12

i hope we hear on friday ahhhh

So people with “ED” just got in? Then why should they worry? And people without"ED" just got deferred? Screw this, I care no more.

@Joezzzzz Keep in mind we have a very small sample size here on College Confidential… while that is what people from last year’s ED thread were saying, that is only a couple people compared to the 1k+ that apply to BU ED1

Also, maybe they changed their system and it is just a glitch, and if you do get deferred then there is always regular decision. I wish the best to you all! and last year it was the Monday before the 15th, so hopefully it will be the 11th. The past two years it has been too early the week before.

Keep in mind, and this may be tough to do, but deferrals to Admissions is just part of the process. They could just deny, but they defer. Try to not be offended if this happens, and realize they just want to compare you with another pool of applicants. This happened to my S two years ago at University of Michigan and Northeastern. He got into both schools, and Michigan let him know not long after the first deferral. Strange things happen. At BU, they offered him a Guaranteed Transfer. So that means he could’ve gone to BU as a sophomore. I tell you this to prepare. Keep an open mind, and if anyone gets a Guaranteed Transfer offer, you can complete the form saying you are interested, but there would be no obligation to attend if you change your mind. Sometimes decisions seem personal, because it’s your life, I get it, but sometimes it’s objective too to the schools. Best of luck, I am rooting for you! !
