I applied to CAS, checked out CGS, no need-based.
@aastsen18r meee! For International Relations like @raspberry29
@aastsen18r I did! Political science/environmental policy and analysis!
@terrier333 Same… I did political Science too… Did your status changed from ED applicant to “our records”?
I chose biology with specialization in cell and molecular biology and genetics I really want to get in, BU has the coolest majors
My status hasn’t changed though, anyone that applied to CAS, has your status changed to the “our records indicate…”
@Joezzzzz @aastsen18r mine still says “Thank you for your application…”
@aastsen18r Mine changed… If what they said is true,I think you might just get acceptance…
I hope so but I feel like BU should be more careful with this type of thing, especially since it has been pointed out twice. I hope you get in! Good luck. I am hoping decisions come out Monday.
Do you guys think that the message thing on the portal right now is true? Last year it was like if you had “thank you for your application…” those people got in and then the people who had “our records show…” got deferred?? I applied to the business school and I am so nervous for decisions to come out!
@ron0414 Personally I think the “Thank you for you’re application…” and the “our records indicate” have some meaning. I don’t know if it can be used to tell who got in vs who didn’t. It could mean something else like who has had their decision finalized vs who is still under consideration for denial/defer/acceptance. However I do believe it means something. Why else would some have one message while others have another? And btw, if you guys are right about decisions being posted on the 11th or 12th, that means the admissions team really only has today, Thursday, and Friday to change your message because they don’t work on weekends (assuming they still are changing messages and everything’s not final).
@Apes2468 that makes sense. thanks!
Did anybody call to ask when the earliest release day is?
Anyone brave enough to call and ask about the message changing?
@cheeeer last year they called and BU told them it didn’t mean anything, but it did
^ true
The good thing about being deferred is that first of all it’s not a straight denial, second is that if you are admitted later in the RD round, you are not committed to enroll. But I don’t know if being deferred allow you to apply to another school as ED 2? Someone knows please tell me.
@Joezzzzz Yes you can. That is the reason for having ED II.
Sounds good, if I am deferred I am definitely ED II somewhere else.
@cheeeer does your portal say “our records indicate”?
