ED but no SAT

So applied ED to harvard but i changed my mind over giving my SAT II's. So they gotta reply by Dec 15 . could i possibly get deferred or get conditioal admission with them wating for my SAT II scores. Or will they just reject me ? Or will they wait for my scores?
thanks..

I'm almost positive you'd just be deferred- if an application is incomplete, they would probably just shift it over so that they could look at it in the RD phase. I'm particularly certain they won't give a "conditional acceptance"- that is, they're not going to say "We'll accept you if, once we receive your SAT IIs, they'll add up to a total of more than 2300" or whatever. They don't do that- they want to look at a complete application in context.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you send the scores if you sent in an application? Were you retaking them in November?

Harvard doesn't have ED. Harvard doesn't admit applicants with an incomplete file. (I'm pretty sure I've heard this question asked at a public meeting before.)

so ill gt rejected ??

In the Harvard admission statistics, I'm pretty sure an incomplete admission file doesn't even count as an application. So your not getting in wouldn't count as a "rejection," but as a case like mine when I was high school age--someone not getting in because he never even applied. But someone more knowledgeable please correct me if I am wrong about how Harvard compiles its admission statistics each year.

My guess would be that they'd contact you, if they haven't already, letting you know the application is incomplete. If you sent in the scores later, I'm sure they'd be willing to defer you to the RD pile.

And you still haven't answered- why didn't you send in the SAT II scores? I'm curious.

oh i didnt take them...i took the act again

you needed ACT + 3 SAT IIs

so my guess is automatic deferral

If guitars_girls checked the box that this application was an application for the early round, my guess (we'll see soon, won't we?) is automatic rejection.

So, guitars_girls, what was your SCEA result? Were you

a) admitted to Harvard?

b) deferred to the regular round at Harvard?

c) denied at Harvard?

or

d) not even considered an applicant, because you didn't submit a complete file by the deadline?

I take it you should have received an answer by now from Harvard if your application was considered in the early round. I thought of this thread because I was just answering a question from a teacher in an AP teacher electronic discussion group about the importance of SAT II tests--the SAT II Subject Tests are a requirement for admission at some colleges, and Harvard is one of those colleges. What does your experience show? Your kind reply will help people who have the same question in the future.

Looks like guitar girls was deferred:

12-16-2006
Decision: Deferred

Stats:
ACT 30
GPA: 4.82
Rank: N/A

okay here the thing that shocked me ....

I NEVER GAVE THE SAT II's ....even in dec...i should have gotten Rejected...

and btw my school messed up and sent in a low gpa it should have been 3.95

can i still take the SAT II's??

Where is the post with the results? In a results thread on this forum, or somewhere else?

I think it was on the results forum, but its easier to just look up her previous posts.
