Rec's will be from teachers who know me as club leader and as a student, one is a Dr who got master's and phd from Penn

What do you think of my chances for ED?

Id say if ur ED ur 70% in. That Dr from Penn rec may help, tho they dont care 2 much about recs anymore. Also what race r u (it shouldn’t matter, i kno, but adcoms look at it)?

white male

EC-wise it seems like you joined a few clubs but aren’t very devoted to any activity…for wharton that could sink you, but for CAS you’re probably in early based on academic strength

Atypicalguy ~ Really 70%? Although he has really good grades, dont’ you think his EC is lacking a bit? Thats what I think… For Penn, those grades are average :frowning: but the applicant needs to boost ECs to set him/her apart. Any outside school activities?

a friend of mine from the area got accepted to wharton with very similar academics and his EC were not drastically better. Those are the main things i am involved in, their are other random things as well, his draw was that he was really in to music and had a band, he was president of a club or two as well.
My essay, in some ways, talks about being open to new things and having a diverse set of interests and welcoming new opportunities for discussion–thats the before-after “after” part of it.
Do you think that description of myself helps to support my EC’s in a way?

Being the valedictorian, and having scores within the middle 50% of those admitted, indicate that you have a very good chance.
