ED chance me 2015

Cornell Engineering

SAT: 2340
SAT II:
chem 780
math II 800

GPA over 4.0

I'm applying ED... but I decided that BEFORE I got my scores for Oct.
Before the Oct SAT, my superscore was below 2200, so obviously I had no chance of getting in
which is why i was gonna apply ED
but then now i have a 2340
so i dont know if i should still stick to that or shoot higher...

bottom line

chance me for: Cornell, UC Berkley, MIT, UMich all engineering

does cornell offer good financial aid (I've heard ED students don't get much aid)

should I rush my OCT SAT to cornell if im doing ED?

if I decide to not ED Cornell (i know it's late) how will that affect my RD Cornell admissions?: my teachers recs are in as ED...

thanks!

rainbowricecake, judging by your stats, you’d be a very competitive applicant if you were applying regular decision to Cornell. but, if this is your first choice school, then by all means, apply early decision!

Not much to work with… ECs? Awards? Leadership positions? Essay, recs, rank?

im pretty solid in terms of clubs, etc
im prez of rocketry club, chairs of nhs and our school organization
4 year sports
and additionally volunteering every week

i dont really know if RD would make a difference from ED… and im just having so much trouble with my essay even though it’s finished. so im actually leaning towards RD right now… good idea? or bad?
cornell wouldnt hold you accountable if your teacher recs and transcript get in early with ED written on them but your app comes in with RD written on it?

I highly doubt they’d hold it against you, but you would probably need to call to make sure your information gets moved to the ‘RD Pile’ - or database, probably.

Stats indicate ED has a higher acceptance rate, but I’m not sure how accurate that statistic really is. Your personal stats are definitely good enough to be accepted to Cornell as a regular applicant.
