ED Chance me please :)

Hey guys I go to a very prominent (public) high school just 30 minutes away from Northwestern in the suburbs, and my counselor tells me that NU knows my school is ultra-competitive. That being said, my profile:

Class Rank: 16%, 121/720, don't think any other classmates are applying ED to NU
UW GPA: 3.77 out of 4
W GPA: 4.2 out of 4
ACT: 29 (only took it once, got a 32 on my recent practice)
SAT: will be taking it on Nov.5, I expect to get a 2100 give or take some, preparing a lot
ECs: 4 yrs (2yrs varsity) of Track, 2 yrs of varsity football, was a BIG leader in both, speech team, worked for my Dad's business for several 100 hours, worked for Brother's business over summers, will be co-founding a weightlifting club at my school in a few weeks
Recs: Solid, one of my teachers is a NU alumni if that makes a difference (doubt it though)
Essay: My AP Lit teacher tells me its top-tier but could be better, if anyone trustworthy wants to see I'd be happy to PM you!
Senior schedule: 5 AP classes, only 1 non-AP, 1 Honors class
Classes from past years: 2 APs, 1 Honor in Jr. Yr, and several honors through Fr-So. yrs.

Anything I'm missing?? Anyhow, I am very passionate about my track experience and will make it known on my application, my counselor believes it could really impress AdComs.

End of the line what do you think? I know my ACT isn't in the 31-33 range, but I strongly believe I will do great on the SAT.

Thanks for any responses

NU’s 2009-10 Common Data Set says that 90% of their enrolled freshmen were in the top tenth of their graduating class. However, you indicate that you come from a highly competitive, well-known high school, so perhaps your class rank will be fine for NU.

Your ACT is significantly below the 25th percentile. for NU – but you know that. 2100 on the SAT is certainly in the range, but is probably below average for NU. Unfortunately, ED applications are due before you will find out your SAT.

As things stand now (i.e., without your SAT) NU is at least reach for you, perhaps a high reach. Even with a 2100, it might be tough, but ED should increase your chances.

Bottom Line – if you really think you can get 2100 and NU is your dream school, then ED is your best shot. Go for it!!
