Bump, please chancing guys :)

Would love a quick chance for Cornell :D

I am applying to Cornell for the Astronomy major too. =)

I say your have a decent shot, but those test scores will be a small hindrance. Cornell only looks at CR and M so I suggest you bring those scores up.

Please chance me back. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1028029-chance-me-cornell-ed-ucb-tufts-more-2300-sat-but-terrible-gpa-rank.html

Thanks, and bumppppp

While you certainly have a shot, CAS has by far the highest stats of the schools at Cornell and a median SAT score of about 2200. A good idea is to see what happens there, and if you don’t get in perhaps cut back on reaches and add more solid targets.

^yea, my scores worry me the most, I just don’t fare as well with standardize tests as I think I should
Any ideas on better matches/schools with astronomy majors and chances for the others anyone?

bumpppppppppppp

Thanks for the chance (and the humor hahaha) :)

Nice top 10% ranking, good upward trend, and pretty solid course rigor. I would say the main thing holding you back is your standardized tests. Your ECs seem passionate, but like you said, your ECs don’t show huge interest in that area. I say your best bet is your essays to just WOW the adcoms. I say Cornell’s a possibility, but I would add a few more “targets” to your list too. I have a top-heavy list too lol! I wish you the best of luck :)

you have a fantastic chance at all of those schools! mainly from your excellent ECs and your ethnicity!
